When the idea of enjoying a glass of wine comes up, many of us think of the classic image. We picture a glass bottle just waiting to be uncorked and enjoyed, standing majestically between two glasses.

It was not long ago that wine connoisseurs would turn their noses up at a travesty like a bottle with a screw cap. But times they are a changing! Nowadays you can buy quality wine in a bottle with a screw cap, in a box, and even in a can.

But the question is, will wine tasters notice the difference based on what it is served from?

This interesting article seems to indicate that there is no discernible difference. There are obvious benefits to buying wine in a can. Not only is a can the perfect size for a couple’s picnic, there’s no glass that can break.

Personally, I think that serving wine from a glass bottle adds to the overall experience. But I like knowing that from a taste perspective, enjoying a glass of wine that was poured from a can is just as good!
