Why is that you may ask…we did.

Well, as it turns out that our very beautiful and smart friend Pat Tallman patriciatallman.us shared this article with us, posted last week on news.com.au. We wanted to share it with you.

So why is Wednesday the perfect time for wine?

It marks the moment when we’re past half-way in the working week and have the stark sobriety of Monday and Tuesday behind us.

Wednesday evening, at 6.53pm, is when most of us feel confident enough of making it through to the weekend to pull off our ties, kick off our shoes and pour ourselves a glass of wine.

A new study, by bottlers Cobevco, has revealed that men are also quicker with the cork, typically pouring their first glass at 6.40pm, while women are half an hour behind, taking their first sip at 7.07pm.

Either way, we don’t want to go out anywhere to do it, with 76 per cent of us drinking at home rather than in a pub. Laura Phillips, an admin assistant, summed up the mood of a Wednesday evening when she told the study that she “always gets into my pyjamas and enjoy a few glasses at around 7pm with my dinner. It’s the perfect time to sit on the sofa and share a nice bottle of red.”

The 27-year-old added: “We don’t necessarily polish the bottle off, but it really takes the edge off and helps me relax in the middle of a hectic week.”

Gillian Walters, marketing director at Cobevco, said that “people are turning to wine as a midweek treat and a bit of an escape – whether from office life or their family.”

We at WW&C would love a comment from you. Please tell us what you think; so we can verify this study.
